A New Skate Park for BOA

Skate BoA

The Preservation Trust are pleased to announce that we have donated £13,000 to A New Skate Park for BOA.

Skate BoA had to raise £250,000 by 31st December 2022 so that they could go ahead with plans for a much needed new skate park in Bradford on Avon.

The Trustees were unanimous in their support. There were a number of reasons.

  • The skate park is an important amenity for young people in our town. It gives them a safe place to enjoy themselves, spend time with friends and a place for them to improve their skills… all in their home town.

  • Skate BoA has demonstrated their dedication and initiative time and time again. Raising a quarter of a million pounds in 18 months (and in the current economic environment) is an amazing achievement.

  • In the past the Preservation Trust did similar fundraising for restoring Priory Barn in the 60's, Pippet Buildings in the 80's and 9-11 Market Street in the 90's. We felt it important to support Skate BoA who have done something similar.

The Trust isn't only about protecting our historic buildings in the conservation area. The Trust is for the entire town.

Notes:

The Trust's Memorandum of Association states “..to formulate and carry into effect and aid in the formulation and carrying into effect of all manner of arrangements for or relating to the financing and development of schemes designed to provide shopping centres, gardens, parks and other amenities within the said area.” The said area being “the town of Bradford on Avon in the County of Wilts.”
