The Preservation Trust is actively involved in a new initiative to tackle problems caused by traffic in Bradford on Avon and the surrounding villages.

Following a community wide consultation, workshop and public meetings, “Priority for People” has launched action groups to take forward four development initiatives:

● A Historic Core Zone for Bradford on Avon

● Plans for a Safer Community

● Plans for a Connected Community (focussing on links between Bradford on Avon and the surrounding villages)

● Longer term strategic issues

The Preservation Trust works with Climate Friendly Bradford on Avon to raise awareness of and to promote efficiency in the use of energy, particularly the energy efficiency of historic buildings, by developing expertise and distributing information.

Landscape

The Preservation Trust has planted trees, shrubs and bulbs in various parts of the town, including

● In the grounds of the former hospital

● A beech hanger at Poulton

● It has cleared and improved a pool at Fitzmaurice Primary School

The Trust’s Landscape group also arranges walks led by experts to enjoy wildflowers and other landscape features.
